Why fishing in Farewell Spit should be banned

There are dolphins called the Hector dolphins and they are only found in New Zealand at Farewell Spit. The Hector dolphins is the smallest dolphin known and measures up to 1.5 meters. Hector dolphins are very rare and the numbers go down every year all because of fishermen. Do you think fishing in Farewell Spit should be banned? well here is what I have to say about that. All fishermen should be banned from fishing at Farewell Spit because they are killing hundredths of Hector dolphins with their fishing nets. As I've already said these dolphins are rare and they should not be killed every time a fishermen goes out there. So that's why I think that people should stop fishing at Farewell Spit.     Kia ora Danielle,

    Thanks for both posting your answer to this question and for inviting others to do the same. I really like that you are open to hearing from other people and that you are allowing them to explain why they agree or disagree with you. That is such a cool idea!

    I personally agree that we should seriously consider banning the use of fishing nets in the areas inhabited by the Hector's dolphins. The population is decreasing at a rapid rate and, if no changes are made, it is very likely that the dolphins will disappear from the world completely.

    I wonder what others think...
