Problem solving WK 3 term 4

Walt: solve word problems
Walt:
solve a range of equations using fractions

Today we are learning to solve word problems and solve a range of equations using fractions. We have been learning our fractions recently and are now solving word problems like the Walt says. For an example 10/12 of 12= 10 because if you look at the 10/12 it gives you a hint. I'm not going to tell you.

My first educreation lesson

Walt: explain your thinking

Today we are learning to explain our thinking. We have been learning about decimals and a easier way to solve the maths questions. We learnt to split the decimals numbers up and work it out.

My problem solving

Walt: multiply and divide decimals by powers of tens.

We are learning to multiply and divide decimals by powers of tens. This week we are learning our decimals and how to multiply decimals and also divide them using powers of tens. The task ask us to divide and multiply meaning using division and multiplication. In our maths we work in groups so as you know that working in a group is much easier than working by yourself.

Walt: multiply and divide decimals.
We are learning to multiply and divide decimal numbers.
Today we have been doing our problem solving with divide
a by questions that look like times and time tables that looks like divide a by's,

My week 6 problem solving

Walt: add and subtract decimals.

We have been learning to add decimals also subtract decimals. The other thing we learnt when we are adding decimals, is that we can add subtract. That is rounding up to the close number like: 15.12+17.15=,
so you go like this: 12+88=1.0 then, 15+1.0=16.0+1.15=17.15.
So add the ones you added to round. So 88+1.15=2.3.

Teacher lesson WK3

Walt: work with decimals.

Today we are learning to multiply and divide whole numbers.
I have learnt to multiply whole numbers. That's including decimals.

Week 5 problem solving

Walt: multiply whole numbers.

Teacher lesson week 2

We were learning to add and subtract decimals. We have started off with easy decimals and numbers and then tried to answer it our selves.

My week 4 problem solving

Walt: understand decimals place value.

We are learning to understand the decimal place values.
We have been learning to do the place value of decimals.

My week 3 problem solving

Walt: add and subtract decimals.

In our maths we are learning to add or subtract decimals. Decimals are little dots like full stops but used in with numbers. Like this for an example and this is a decimal: 0.2,3.05,0.6. So thats and example of what an decimals look like's if you don't know what it is.

Week 1 term 3 teacher lesson

We were learning to add our decimals and also subtract. What really was the important thing about adding or subtracting decimals would be looking at there columns. When you'r adding or sub then look at the colums. Columns are the important part there.

My WK11 problem solving

WALT: Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators

I have been learning about fractions and have been solving fraction problems by using addition or subtractions. I solved fractions by using additions. So for example if i had 2 whole pies and gave 1 1/3 i would only have 7/10.

My teacher lesson week 10

We have been learning about sequence fractions. Sequence means order. If you have the fractions like:
6/13, 7/13, 9/13 and 2/13, then as you see that the denominator is the same all you have to do is to look at the numerator. So it will go like this: 2/13, 6/13,7/13 and then 9/13 only if you were going biggest to smallest or do it the other way around then you will have the smallest to largest.

My WK9 problem solving

Walt: find equivalent fractions.
Today i have been working on my fractions and to understand what equivalent means. Equivalent means that if you have a fraction then you can divide it using the same number. So equivalent means the same as

My week 8 teacher lesson

Today the scales learnt how to do equivalent fractions. We had thought of a random fraction and we thought of the fraction 2/4. As we were thinking what was the equivalent fraction for 2/4 we all said 1/2 because 2/4 is 1/2 of 4. Equivalent stands for same as it tells you the you can half the numerator and the denominator in half with using the same number.

My week 9 problem solving

Walt: solve multiplication problems using a range of strategies.

We have been practicing out fractions. We get a problem that envoles fractions and we try to work it out.
The denominator is the bottom number witch tells you how many pieces there are altogether. The numerator is the top number witch tells you how many pieces you have. So the bigger the denominator the smaller amount you get.

My week 8 problem solving on fractions

Walt:Solve multiplication problems using a range of strategies.

We have been learning our fractions. A fraction has a denominator witch stands for how many pieces there altogether. The numerator is the top number witch stands for how many pieces have been taken away.
