Word problem and key words

WALT: Read graphs, analyse data, and report on statistical findings.
This week we are doing word problems and key words for maths. We are
given a question to answer and we have to use the key word. Like for an example: addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.

My own educreation video

Walt: solve word problems
Walt:
 solve a range of problems

This educreation video was made by me. All of it was from another educreation video that scales did with Mr Somerville. We are learning to solve word problems and solve a range of problems.

My problem solving

Walt: multiply and divide decimals.
We are learning to multiply and divide decimal numbers.
Today we have been doing our problem solving with divide
a by questions that look like times and time tables that looks like divide a by's,

Week 5 problem solving

Walt: multiply whole numbers.

Today we are learning to multiply and divide whole numbers.
I have learnt to multiply whole numbers. That's including decimals.

Problem solving T2 week 2

Walt: add and subtract decimals.

In our maths we are learning to add or subtract decimals. Decimals are little dots like full stops but used in with numbers. Like this for an example and this is a decimal: 0.2,3.05,0.6. So thats and example of what an decimals look like's if you don't know what it is.

Week 1 term 3 teacher lesson

We were learning to add our decimals and also subtract. What really was the important thing about adding or subtracting decimals would be looking at there columns. When you'r adding or sub then look at the colums. Columns are the important part there.

My Week 1 problem solving

Walt:add and subtract decimals.
We are learning to add decimals and also subtract decimals. A decimal is a fraction whose denominator is a power of ten. Decimals are related to fraction like the denominator. A decimal is also a dot like this >. and some people say it's a point not like the point in when you win a game and you get a point.

My WK11 problem solving

WALT: Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators

I have been learning about fractions and have been solving fraction problems by using addition or subtractions. I solved fractions by using additions. So for example if i had 2 whole pies and gave 1 1/3 i would only have 7/10.

My WK9 problem solving

Walt: find equivalent fractions.
Today i have been working on my fractions and to understand what equivalent means. Equivalent means that if you have a fraction then you can divide it using the same number. So equivalent means the same as

My week 8 teacher lesson

Today the scales learnt how to do equivalent fractions. We had thought of a random fraction and we thought of the fraction 2/4. As we were thinking what was the equivalent fraction for 2/4 we all said 1/2 because 2/4 is 1/2 of 4. Equivalent stands for same as it tells you the you can half the numerator and the denominator in half with using the same number.

My week 8 problem solving on fractions

Walt:Solve multiplication problems using a range of strategies.

We have been learning our fractions. A fraction has a denominator witch stands for how many pieces there altogether. The numerator is the top number witch stands for how many pieces have been taken away.

My teacher lesson fraction solving

In fractions we learned that the denominator is the bottom number that tells how many pieces there are altogether. The numerator is the top number that tells you how many pieces were taken away and left.
So the bigger the denominator the smaller the fractions you get.

My maths problem solving

Walt: understand fractions.

We have been learning to understand fractions and  to solve the problems properly.
Fractions are very hard to understand but when you say that you ate half of the pizza  and have one side left then that's called 1/2.

problem solving week 5

Walt: solve multiplication problems.

We have been solving multiplication problems using strategies. We learnt how to solve multiplication problems like this: 21 x 32=, we go 20 x 30= then 20 x 2=, 1 x 30= then last 1 x 2=.

Problem solving

Walt: solve multiplication problems with 1 multiplier.

We are learning how to solve problems using shorter solving solutions. We learnt how to solve problems with a partner because it is easier.

Scales- problem solving

My maths group today was learning how to solve a problem in a group. I learnt that I need to read the
question carefully so I understand what it is asking me to do. We learnt that instead of drawing that takes a little longer we can use multiplication.
