Limerick poem

This is called a limerick poem. A limerick poem has rhyming words like shown here. (syllables) The first,second and fifth line has to rhyme. The third and fourth line also has to rhyme.

What is adaptation?

Walt: define adaptation.
The process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to it's environment. Adaptation is what herbivores,carnivores or omnivores do to survive (adapt). For an example  like the dessert of the polar regions.

A polar bear has many different adaptations that it has in mind. It's fur is hollow but also absorbed the light (heat) to keep it's self warm in the Arctic. The fat on the polar bear is greasy.

!WOW! What a start to the morning, room 6 did the fear factor challenge but only 4 contestants were allowed to enter. Fear factor is a TV show that is super gross. The fear factor challenge is a tough objection that people have been chosen to do what you call distasteful.

Our recount about our egg race

Walt: think about the purpose and reader by planning my recount.
Wow as us being students doing a strange race that we have never done before in the mornings. Having an egg race was actually a real fun game but super difficult. As us having to do an egg race was strange,not like the teaching Mr Goodwin I know .

Arriving at school and going into our literacy classes we were bored when Mr Goodwin gave us an egg each but before that we had to have a partner. As so my partner was Adriel. We had 1 egg to share and also had the chance to draw a face on it and to give it a name which was Bobby.

Our class thought that Mr Goodwin was talking nonsense until he actually was taking us to the park for a egg race. In this egg race was that we had to race the egg across the park to our partner but we had to put the egg on the spoon. Wow I guess he wasn’t talking nonsense at all.

As for you might ask why we had an egg race, it was because that Mr Goodwin was seeing if we were fragile or that we did not even care about the egg smashing. It was a lot of fun that we had a race to start of the day as it started off well. As well as the class and I knew was that he wanted to test us on how careful we were.

Thinking about the egg race we had it was quite difficult but still fun. For my partner and I we were a little bit upset because I dropped my egg as it was an accident. To speak for the class and myself we all had fun as some had smashed and some survived which was devastating.

My problem solving

We are learning to multiply and divide decimals by powers of tens. This week we are learning our decimals and how to multiply decimals and also divide them using powers of tens. The task ask us to divide and multiply meaning using division and multiplication. In our maths we work in groups so as you know that working in a group is much easier than working by yourself.

The team 4 market day

Walt: write an interesting and detailed recount.
As our market day was on Friday we did it for mostly the whole afternoon block. That was our only market day we had and also was our first but so it went on. For some reason everyone sighed in shame

Our market day was to celebrate our hard work but mostly congratulating our hard work and effort towards our products we made. For my business group home ware we make things for homes,stores and schools. But for my own group we made skull shaped candles that are big and small and also orange peel candles which worked out very well. We had various of choices like candles,soaps,potpourri,air fresheners and so much more. Smelling a lot of nice smells from other trade and enterprise group like kitchen and home ware. With the smell it attracted people to their things and to buy it.

As setting up our business groups we just shuffled tables and chairs also products around and decorated the big space with posters buntings and others. Our group was set up by Miss Lavakula class and along the wet lunch time games. We shifted the tables and put posters on it with our products set on a sheet/lava lava. With a little bit of help we made buntings which are like little cut out flags to put on a long or short piece of string. The lava lava/sheet was to cover the table to make it look nice.

I had my first experience with selling my products which is the first time I've ever did that. As my partner and I sell our products we only had a few knowings about how to sell and what to say to get there attention. As going we did not know what to say so we said something random and poof out of nowhere a Christchurch visitor came and bought one of our orange peel candle and as she bought it she gave us 4 pt. The real cost was only 50 pieces to be honest.

While buying other things we did not know what to buy as then it being different from buying from the shops. As buying for 30 mins we did not really know what to buy from other groups like kitchen,jewels and accessories,musical instruments and custom stationery. As for buying it was hard because others were calling and sometimes shouting loud. Trying to desperately get people to buy from their store.

The market day was awesome  and I didn't really buy anything because I wanted to save my pt’s. It was a lot of fun because there were all kinds of stuff to buy like slingshots,bow and arrow,tin pin bowling gear and sooooo much more. As if this was the best day ever it truly was for everyone. Finding nice and fun things is !!awesome!!.


We are learning to write an interesting and detailed recount. We have learnt to write only 1 big and small main idea in a paragraph or sentence. The task ask us to write a detailed recount and to add lots of interesting words and detailed sentences too.

My week 6 problem solving

Walt: add and subtract decimals.

We have been learning to add decimals also subtract decimals. The other thing we learnt when we are adding decimals, is that we can add subtract. That is rounding up to the close number like: 15.12+17.15=,
so you go like this: 12+88=1.0 then, 15+1.0=16.0+1.15=17.15.
So add the ones you added to round. So 88+1.15=2.3.

Our trade fair

Walt: use language that paints a picture in the minds of our reader.
This is about a trade fair that team 4 had in week 4. The trade fair we had was something that we take orders from customers as they visit. Trade means the action of buying and selling goods and services, enterprise means a company or business.

Our trade fair was a place that we sell our products that we make in our business groups. We take orders so that we have time to make what our customers want that we have. Others have there own things so that all just don’t have the same. It is like a service thing but a little different from what real ones are.

There are 6 various of groups that we have and they are: Homeware, Kitchen, Musical instrument, Toys,Jewelry and custom stationery. I belong to the homeware group where we sell things that can be used at home or school. The product that my group and I have decided was a skull candle and a orange peel candle. We had presentations to present.

At the trade fair was that we got to walk around seeing the creativity that other people made with what resources they had to make what they decided. My experiences with this is that this was my first school trade the I have ever been to.

In week 8 there will be a market day which is a day that a lot of products that each group make will be sold.
The making of the orders will be done on that day and the ones who ordered will get their thing. The market day is when we get to the fun stuff.

Chocolate critic

Walt: use language that paints a picture in the mind of our reader.


If i had went to a store to buy L&P chocolate I would eat this for breakfast all day.


The product is a king size bar of white chocolate that is a L&P flavored. It has a Whittaker's brand on the bar and wrapper. Also it has a Whittaker's brand on the bar itself like little writing and was $4.30. I think that L&P combined with white chocolate is a great idea for me….. that’s my type.


Image result for l&p chocolateDrooling like a little baby as it was melting in my mouth as a flowing river of chocolate . It was bumpy and smooth at the same time which was weird. It just look’s like a plain white chocolate but with gold spots buried in it as if it had sank down in the ocean. As smelling the chocolate it had a unusual smell on it but hard to explain, but if I had to I’d say . In my mouth with a perfect level of sweetness.


I could improve this by adding in little soft candy or just leave it. I could change the chocolate into dairy chocolate with an L&P flavored. By my case I just don’t feel like having to change or improve it.

I would give it a 10/10 in my distance of rate and what I feel that I think of it. I like this kind of product that Whittaker’s have done by combining a L&P drink and white chocolate to make L&P chocolate.
We are learning to use a type of language that paints a picture in the mind of our readers. The task ask us to use a certain type of language that explains it to the reader and that draws/paints a picture. Our reader can feel like they are in the story.
