Application to be an ambassador for 2015
At Pt England school we learnt how to learn, create and share in our class. Learning, creating and sharing is good because it helps teach other people what we have learnt.
Learn
In our class we learn about new things that we never knew. Learning is important because you can learn from reading a book. If we make a mistake we can always learn from them.
This term in Class 7 we have been learning about writing detailed paragraphs.
Create
My class and I have created things to share our learning.
For one lesson we all wrote 1 sentence about a picture and chose the best one. Then wrote our own sentences to add to the main idea.

Share
I shared my finished space story of 3 paragraphs and posted it here on my blog. I am not the only one who shares, everyone does. I share my garage band music with my music teacher. Introduction video for ambassador from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Space
Above earth there is a created technology called a satellite and it is spinning in space.
A rock is coming for the satellite really slowly.
It may just hit and damage the satellite.
As the rock comes closer and closer in a slow mode, the satellite continues to spins. The satellite sends information to NASA and they are struggling of what to do.
NASA sends up John and Joan into space to see what they can do to stop this huge asteroid from hitting the satellite. “But what can the do there nothing that can stop that” said Max. “I think there is a way, we will send them up and they can pull the satellite away and we will put a camera a the rocket so we know what's going on” George explained.
They went with George’s idea and sent Joan and John into space. Countdown on 5,4,3,2,1 launch the rocket and there the rocket goes. NASA watches on camera as Joan sets the tether rope on him and as he floats in space he hooks on a strong rope. " It worked ".
Mosaic art
- Practicing is important because if you make a mistake it won't matter and also it could be a guide.
- A mosaic is a picture or pattern that is produced by arranging small pieces of paper, stone or tiles.
Mosaics
In my reading group we were learning about mosaics. We practice first so if we made a mistake it would not matter. I have made a cobra mosaic and took a picture of it.

How to be a good Pt Englander
How to be a good Pt Englander
What does it mean to be a good Pt Englander?
Would you go to a school where everyone was rude to you? I wouldn't. To be a good Pt Englander we should be courteous, cyber smart and welcoming.
We show courtesy to each other because being rude is disrespectful. To show respect to teachers we listen and wait for our turn to speak. When another student is talking never speak on top of them.
You should be cyber smart and have smart actions. Being cyber smart is being smart online and leaving a clever footprint. If someone was bullying me I would use smart action.
Welcoming new kids to our school is important because showing them around and helping them get ready. Helping and welcoming kids is a good way to greet them.
If I saw a new lost kid I would greet them and help them.
How to be a good Pt Englander helps in many different ways. If you were playing and the bell went then you saw a little kid lost you could make them feel welcomed.

CREATIVE SPRING WRITING
Today in class we have been creating a spring paragraph. We had to describe this picture and use the words oak tree in the spring, chill to the air and bright light. Here is my sentence and the other paragraph I added my 2 sentences to it.
In spring there was a slight chill to the air and the oak tree had bright light pouring down on it.
Under a tree, kicked back by the beach from a view, chill going down your spine, the bright sun light on you.:l

IKA MOANA THE STORY OF PAIKEA
- Everyone gasp because The whale is going to take a deep dive.
- The story of Paikea is retold because people will know that whales are not our enemy.
- I think about the whales in a worried state because some people will sneak and do more whaling.
- Joe now does whale watching because their were only a few whales left.
- Whaling stopped in 1964 because whales were almost extinct and there were only a few.I have been reading about sperm whales and how the communicate. Sperm whales can communicate with clicking noises and how to find it's prey. My thoughts on whaling is that it is really sad because we are just harming a whale that is harmful.

Explaning my event
Running on water basketball was invented in Auckland NZ by a man and his name was George in 2009. His aim of the game was to run as fast as you can to shot the ball in the basketball hoop.
George had already sorted out his equipment and they are waterproof shoes, swimsuits, 1 ball and 2 hoops.
He needed a surface on both sides, cones around the edge and the space had to be as big as the reserve.
There had to be 25 players per team and the positions were center , power forward, small forward, point guard and shooting guard. George’s rules are simple there are no pushing, no tripping, no double dribble, start with a pass and if the ball goes out it’s the other teams ball.
