Write4Gold Poster
WALT: Identify and present facts of greater importance from a non fiction text
Last week's work was about a true story Write4Gold. It was about teams from around the world to compete in a Write4Gold competition. The main thing was to showcase their talent to everyone and to express what art/graffiti is all about. The judges wanted " Zero Tolerance." What I've learnt from this is to do teamwork, showcase your talent and to make right decisions when it come down to one person.

Year 7 fun week
The day on camp all year 8s were gone except for a few year 8s they stayed back with us year 7s. On our first of year 7 fun day we had the chance to do art and become apart of a management team. We made the poles in our block decorative and colourful to welcome the year 8s back when they arrive on the last day of school. On our second day we were fundraising for a shared lunch that our year 7s and some year 8s wanted to do on the last day of term 1. We fundraised $54.60 at first.
Our last day we were super excited to have freedom in the holidays. On our last day we raised up to $97.29 and it was enough to buy all the ingredients. We had a kitchen team that would make the food and prepare everything. Our first day went alright as we had some issues of tidying up and preparing all the flower art so that it was ready for the year 8s to feel welcomed home.
We even got to watch a movie and it was called From boys2Men filmed by Mrs Muliaumaseali'i and her "One pacific production team." We only got to watch half of it but watched the rest on our second to last day. The movie was about a boy named Malaga that lived in a foster home with a very bad foster parent. He was threatened by that foster parent and was told that if he ever went to sleep again his knuckles would be broken. Malaga then ran away on the streets and was found by a teenager named Johno. Johno then took him in and looked after him until he was all grown up.
As Malaga was an adult he started to steal with his best friend Johno and their crew. Malaga and Johno were locked up but then Malaga had a social worker and his social worker took him in to be his son. He went to college as Johno tried to find Malaga. " Is that you Johno," cried Malaga. " Johno it is you."
" Malaga you need to come with me," explained Johno. " It's nothing personal we need you back brother."
The ending is sad but luckily it's just an act. Malaga dies at the end and the strange thing is that Malaga's friend Johno was taken in by the same people. Malaga's social worker.
Our last day was the best day yet. We had lizania, a pear and a can of coke. The last day but it was a blast. Everyone had fun and there were smiles. That was our year 7 fun week. Also a couple of year 8s to look after and lead us.

Our Immersion Assembly
YAH!, school is here. We are now back at school to learn, create and share our awesome creativity things we do in class. At out first immersion assembly for this term was all about art. Team 1’s movie was about all their favourite things. Team 2’s Item and movie was about all the different seasons there are. Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn were all four choices to pick from. Team 3 was about Architecture building. Team 4 was about Teacher avengers. They were going to look at different kinds of comic books and create their own. Team 5 was about All 4 Waka’s: Hikianalia, Hokulea, Te Aurere and Hine Moana.
Team 5’s act was pretty cool, even Mrs Tele’a was awesome and her doing her funny act pretending to paddle. The music on team 4s movie was a superhero themed song in action movies usually. Mr Goodwin was the narrator. He talked as if they had made a real comic book movie. Team 2s learning was based on the different kinds of seasons there are. Bright colours are for summer, dark colours like red for autumn, Winter is mostly white and blue then spring are any types of colours.
Team 1,2 and 3 didn’t were really any costumes but there message was to build or use all types of lovely colours of the seasons, trying to think what you like and to do architecture. Team 4 teacher Mr Somerville was dressed as Captain America. Team 5s teachers were dressed in our house colours which are Hikianalia (yellow), Hine Moana (blue), Hokulea (green) and Te Aurere (red). They are our house colours named after the 4 waka’s.
What I liked about team 1s item was they were sharing their favourite things about what they really like in their lives. Team 2s item was learning about the different colours in the different seasons like WInter, Spring, Summer and Autumn and that was interesting. Teams 3s one was super interesting and cool because they are doing architecture building in there class. Team 4s one was pretty hilarious as for there superhero names with a very very bad villain. Then we come down to team 5s item. It was pretty funny because they were pretending they were actually racing in their waka. Hine Moana was Mrs Tele’a was coming first then Hokulea Mrs Garden took the lead and won. This was our first 2016 Immersion assembly. JUst to be clear I think Mrs Tele'a actually won fare in square.
